A Friendly Family Home Gets Ready for Grown Up Guests
We hit it off with Carolyn right away. She and her husband raised four kids in two bedrooms, and those rooms were ready for a upgrade. She has wonderful, artsy Boho taste – had it long before it was a thing – and had collected tons of great flea market finds that gave her house character.
Paintings and fine cabinetry created by her very artistic mom and dad would get places of honor. A magnificent quilt took star billing in the larger bedroom — we’d work with those colors and textures.
Within a week, the entire upstairs — renamed “the guest suite,” had new carpet and paint. (We’re fast.) Using our trade discount, we ordered some really fun and practical furniture — just ask us if you need an XL twin trundle bed with an XL twin trundle, because we know where to get it. New grass cloth roman shades were a huge improvement. Posters were reframed, lamps obtained, custom European square pillows made. We got a great buy on a World Market chair – the equal of any swivel chair out there.
The end result is delightful — fresh and lively, just like Carolyn. And guests are on the way!
